Role Summary

The Parts Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional service to customers by providing knowledgeable assistance, handling transactions, and ensuring the smooth operation of the parts department. This role involves identifying specific part numbers for motorcycles and addressing customer inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to all clients.
  • Assess customer needs, present options, resolve issues, and ensure follow-up.
  • Strive for complete customer satisfaction without unnecessary referrals to other staff.
  • Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor at all times.
  • Provide knowledgeable and courteous service to customers.
  • Assist customers in finding products, manage special orders, respond to inquiries, and explain return and exchange policies.
  • Monitor for theft and implement loss prevention strategies.
  • Execute all cashiering duties in line with company cash handling protocols.
  • Verify price tags for accuracy.
  • Utilize proper verification methods for credit card transactions.
  • Keep the sales area organized, clean, and well-stocked.
  • Restock shelves, inform inventory managers of sales trends, and maintain comprehensive product knowledge.
  • Ensure merchandise is displayed attractively.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at the cashiering station.
  • Keep the cashiering area supplied with necessary materials, such as bags and credit card slips.
  • Assist with incoming calls and direct them appropriately.
  • Label damaged items and ensure they are delivered to the correct location.
  • Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Duties

  • No supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 1-3 years preferred, with 3-5 years being ideal; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to take initiative and solve problems effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional presentation of oneself and the company.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, policies, and principles.
  • Proficient in computer use, particularly Microsoft Office Suite and general email/internet applications.
  • Familiarity with Google Drive applications, including Google Sheets and Google Docs, is a plus.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills are required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use both hands effectively.
  • Frequent bending, climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to balance and maneuver an 800+ lb motorcycle.

Work Environment

  • Typically loud noise levels in the work area.
  • Potential exposure to battery acid, gasoline, and other cleaning chemicals.
  • Occasional exposure to exhaust fumes and airborne particles.
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical components.
