Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Support Specialist to join our team at Huntington Ingalls Industries. As a key member of our logistics function, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and issue of materials and supplies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare logistics documentation to establish the range and depth of spares, tools, and related manuals.
  • Determine maintenance and repair materials required for deployment.
  • Modify maintenance records to reflect changes in equipment or components.
  • Develop requisitions for and manage records of equipment, components, and repair parts.
  • Track logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of storage facilities.
  • Review configuration changes to evaluate impact on logistics deployment.
  • Document equipment, component, and parts conditions.
  • Identify logistic support documentation to be included, such as drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance requirement cards.
Requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain base credentials (DBIDS) and be a US Citizen.
  • Must have experience and understanding of shipping and receiving of material and supplies, as well as Government Furnished Material and Customer acquired material.
  • Must have experience and understanding of how hazmat items are stored, shipped, and disposed of.
  • Must have a demonstrated knowledge of tools as they relate to inventory, issue, and storage, as well as maintenance.
  • Must have strong computer skills, including demonstrable experience with data entry, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer Candidates with an Active Security Clearance.
  • Knowledge of Government and Contractor Acquired Material as it relates to inventory, issue, and storage.
  • Experience in planning, drawing material kitting, and preparation for installation tasking.
  • Experience with DLA system and DRMO processing systems.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to work in a shipboard environment. Must be able to lift, carry, transport heavy equipment and climb ladders.
