Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Attorney - Regulatory to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide expert advice on regulatory matters, review and prepare litigation materials, and represent the company in various legal proceedings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Advice: Provide sound legal advice on regulatory matters affecting the interests of PGW, including but not limited to, regulatory, litigation, municipal, energy, and other areas requiring legal counseling and/or assistance.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research on legal opinions, rulings, and findings to provide the most up-to-date and accurate legal advice regarding company matters.
  • Representation and Negotiation: Advise and represent PGW in negotiations, administrative, and court actions as assigned, preparing relevant legal documents associated with these processes.
  • Ethics and Compliance: Provide ethics opinions and training, investigating ethics concerns, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local statutes, case law, ordinances, legislation, and regulations.
  • Policy and Procedure: Analyze and interpret federal, state, and local statutes, case law, ordinances, legislation, and regulations to determine their application to company business procedures, policy, and practices.
  • Consultation and Collaboration: Consult with other departments as necessary to carry out assigned responsibilities and perform other special projects and assignments as requested.

Requirements

  • Education: Must be a law school graduate with an LLB or JD degree.
  • Bar Admission: Must be admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar.
  • Experience: 5 or more years of experience working with laws and regulations related to commercial, energy, and/or regulatory law.
  • Skills: Must have experience in natural gas rate procedures, analytical and communication skills, and leadership ability with a willingness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions to provide guidance to lower-level peer groups.
