We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced attorney to join our Law Department at State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company. As a Senior Attorney, you will be responsible for delivering legal services in an objective and unbiased manner, in accordance with the attorneys' ethical and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities- Handle cases involving claims with high financial exposure and complexity, including cases involving complex medical issues, catastrophic injuries, or sensationalized accident facts.
- Conduct depositions and present expert testimony in trial.
- Prepare detailed, concise, and timely reports on complicated cases, reflecting in-depth analysis and proposed strategy for further handling.
- Supervise and develop assigned support staff, mentor other attorneys, and provide guidance on varied and complex legal issues and administrative matters.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in insurance defense and litigation.
- 5+ years of personal injury experience, preferably in insurance defense.
- Jury trial experience and arbitration, deposition, and discovery experience are highly desirable.
- Ability to handle an inventory of 70+ files and excellent communication and organizational skills.
- J.D. from an A.B.A. Accredited Law School, in the top half of graduating class, and an active member in good standing of the Bar in the state of operation.
- Active law license to practice in Pennsylvania and a member in good standing with the State Bar of Pennsylvania.
