Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Assistant Lead to join our team at CODAC Health. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Nursing with carrying out tasks within the scope of a Licensed Practical Nurse, including medical and office support to Providers, Nurses, and direct service personnel.
  • Implement consistent and streamlined member care processes, reducing wait times and improving overall patient satisfaction.
  • Train and develop new and existing employees, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality care.
  • Provide backup support to the medical assistant team, performing all functions of a medical assistant as needed.
  • Perform other administrative tasks and clinical care as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
  • Participate in evaluation and assessment of members, coordinating medical care with primary physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Observe members' behavior patterns and medical symptoms, reporting findings to prescribing clinicians or clinical staff for follow-up.
  • Perform nursing screening and assessments for members, reporting findings to prescribers.
  • Support members in following through on prescribed medical interventions and diagnostic testing.
  • Assess and address barriers to health, ensuring members receive the care they need.
  • Administer or facilitate administration of injections as ordered by Providers, using NextGen workflow for documentation and billing.
  • Update member medication lists in NextGen, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Perform various office duties, such as shredding documents, filing, and sorting mail, lab reports, and faxes from pharmacies.
  • Assess and prioritize members based on the severity of their conditions.
  • Assist with recruitment, training, development, and coaching of staff, ensuring they meet competency checklist requirements.
  • Maintain 100% compliance with organizational training requirements.
  • Attend workshops related to position, ensuring professional growth and development.
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Three (3) years' direct care experience, with at least 2 years' experience working in a clinical setting.
  • Skills in office duties, customer service, insurance, and billing, and patient care.
  • Must obtain/maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Valid Arizona Driver's license, proof of current insurance, and willingness to use personal vehicle.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (no more than 2 moving violations or a license suspension in past 3 years).
  • Familiar with and adheres to medical assistant scope of practice.
  • Skills in MS Office products, Word, Excel, Access, etc., importing/exporting data to/from.
