Overview


US Oncology, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Full-time Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to become a vital part of our healthcare team. This role is essential in providing exceptional care and support within our infusion department.

This position operates on a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with no weekend, on-call, or holiday shifts required.

This role may be classified as Level 1, 2, or Senior based on the relevant experience of the candidate.

Key Responsibilities of the Infusion Registered Nurse (RN):


Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse (RN) delivers professional nursing care to patients, adhering to national and organizational standards and guidelines for specialty regulations.

The RN must recognize the physical, psychological, and spiritual dimensions of care and actively participate in company-wide quality initiatives. Compliance with the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, is essential.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care in line with established standards and practices.
  • Assess patient and family needs, providing education and instructional materials.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under the guidance and supervision of a physician.
  • Administer medications and blood products accurately, ensuring correct dosages, routes, and techniques.
  • Ensure pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are secured prior to therapy administration when applicable.
  • Facilitate dose modifications by evaluating patient conditions, reviewing lab results, consulting treatment protocols, calculating dosages, and discussing adjustments with the physician.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
  • Maintain precise documentation of patient care and treatments provided.
  • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) position will possess the following qualifications:

Level 1:
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program, BSN preferred.
  • Active RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • 0-3 years of nursing experience.
  • Infusion experience is preferred.

Level 2 (in addition to Level 1 requirements):
  • 3-5 years of nursing experience.

Senior Level (in addition to Level 1 and 2 requirements):
  • Five years of nursing experience.
