Job Summary

The Patient Access Representative will serve as the first point of contact for visitors entering our facilities, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth experience for patients and families. This role is responsible for checking in and out, appointment scheduling, registration, verifying demographics, insurance verification, telephone coverage, data entry, authorizations, pre-registration, new patient referrals, point of service collections, and other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors
  • Check in and out patients, verify demographics, and update patient information
  • Schedule appointments, register patients, and verify insurance
  • Handle telephone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and provide information
  • Enter data accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Process authorizations, pre-register patients, and facilitate new patient referrals
  • Collect point of service payments and manage cash handling responsibilities
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient flow and efficient operations

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in customer service or a healthcare office setting preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
  • Proficient in data entry with multiple software applications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products
