Electrical Control Systems Engineer

As a key member of the Engineering team, you will be stationed at our manufacturing facility to oversee and coordinate various projects of differing complexities.
Your role will encompass the management of project safety, scope definition, cost estimation, and ongoing budget forecasts, achieved through collaboration with the engineering team and other departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager to formulate, submit, and oversee capital projects.
Investigate enhancements for equipment and processes identified in the business strategy.
Draft project scopes, solicit quotes, and manage bid processes and information requests.
Prepare Capital Investment Requests (CIRs), Technical Briefs, and necessary advisory tools.
Oversee project funding, including purchase order requests and invoicing to align with monthly expenditure forecasts.
Work alongside procurement to ensure contract execution and payment conditions are met.
Guarantee that all project planning, deliverables, reporting, and financial forecasts are effectively managed, ensuring adherence to safety, budget, timeline, and performance criteria.
Manage multiple projects and liaise with vendors and suppliers involved in these initiatives.
Coordinate project completion and capitalization with relevant departments.
Navigate structured Engineering processes to transition projects from concept to execution.
Collaborate with Platform Engineering and cross-functional teams on significant capital projects.
Act as the plant's subject matter expert for capital projects and operational systems, including PLC hardware, programming software, operational technology networks, and HMI systems.
Assist maintenance personnel in troubleshooting electrical control, instrumentation, and PLC system issues, documenting problems and solutions for future reference.
Support all engineering responsibilities, including availability during off-hours, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an Associate degree in a related industrial field with five years of relevant experience.
Proven expertise in PLC control programming and electrical systems.
Experience with AB-SLC 500 series, AB-PLC 5 series, AB-Control Logix series, AB-Compact Logix, RSLogix programming software, Factory Talk View, and Panel View HMI series.
Fundamental knowledge of PLC and HMI controls.
Strong project management capabilities.
Ability to manage contractors and establish clear expectations for site safety and workmanship.
Proficient in Microsoft applications; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
