Central Sterile Technician Job Summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a skilled Central Sterile Technician to join our team at NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn. As a Central Sterile Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care by processing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and sterilize medical instruments and equipment to ensure they are safe for patient use.
  • Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including steam sterilizers and washer/decontaminators.
  • Inspect and test instruments for proper function and report any defects or damage to the supervisor.
  • Prepare and package instruments for shipment and storage.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure smooth workflow and efficient processing of instruments.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of experience operating steam sterilizers, washers/decontaminators, and Sterrad.
  • Knowledge of supplies, OR instruments, and equipment.
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) by Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or equivalent certification.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $56,470.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
