Whitecap Search is currently seeking a skilled and bilingual Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team at a prestigious outpatient facility in a major metropolitan area.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform blood draws from veins using various techniques as needed, enter patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into a computer system, and explain procedures to patients in a clear and concise manner.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for disposing of contaminated needles or other biohazard fluids or tissue in accordance with established policies and procedures, organizing and cleaning blood-drawing trays to ensure all instruments are sterile, and processing blood or other samples for further analysis as requested.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform blood draws from veins using various techniques as needed
- Enter patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into a computer system
- Explain procedures to patients in a clear and concise manner
- Dispose of contaminated needles or other biohazard fluids or tissue in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Organize and clean blood-drawing trays to ensure all instruments are sterile
- Process blood or other samples for further analysis as requested
Requirements:
- Bilingual Spanish (must be able to speak Spanish)
- Completion of Phlebotomy program
- Phlebotomy Certification
- 6 months of Phlebotomy experience required
- BLS preferred (American Heart Association)
