Job Summary
The Budget Analyst III is responsible for supervising and planning work for assigned staff and providing technical assistance. Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising the annual operating budget (AOB) and amendment process
- Ensuring adequate documentation for all budget adjustments is maintained
- Developing amendment schedules and submitting amendments to the Budget Director along with supporting documentation
- Working with the Director to maintain an appropriate budgetary coding structure
- Monitoring multiple funding streams
- Monitoring major federal programs/grants
- Supervising the preparation of quarterly program expenditure projection reports
- Preparing quarterly department-level personal services and expenditure projections
- Advising the Budget Director of significant variances and anticipated funding level changes
- Ensuring budget analyst performs monthly and quarterly budget meetings
- Reconciliations in PBCS and PeopleSoft Financials to ensure budgetary compliance
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree in accounting, business/public administration, or finance from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of fiscal analysis job-related experience; or Two (2) years of experience at the lower level Budget Analyst 2 (FIP011) or equivalent position.
