Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team at GeorgiaGov. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for performing professional-level finance, accounting, and fiscal control functions.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Update project information in our Projects Management application.
  2. Analyze documentation and verify data to ensure accuracy.
  3. Organize and prepare project documentation for storage in our electronic records management system.
  4. Compile project data and prepare for supervisor review.
  5. Assist in monitoring the status of project approvals, changes, and deletions.
  6. Assist in programming projects, including geographic location information.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

The selected candidate must meet the advertised minimum qualifications, which include:

  1. An associate degree in a related area from an accredited college or university and one year of job-related experience in accounting, billing, collection systems, or claims.
  2. Or one year of professional job-related experience in general accounting, billing, and collection systems and/or claims.

  2. The ability to gather, organize, research, evaluate, maintain information, and communicate it in either verbal or written form.
  3. Strong analytical skills with careful attention to detail.
  4. The ability to perform mathematical computations and see details in numbers quickly and accurately.
  5. The ability to recall information that has been presented on the job.
  6. Demonstrated competency using spreadsheets, word processing, and database applications.
  7. Experience with PDF software.
  8. The ability to understand cardinal directions and identify geographic locations.
  9. Demonstrated ability working effectively with managers, staff, other department personnel, and external organizations in a cooperative and professional manner.
  10. Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills.
  11. Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills/reconciliation.
  12. Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to change.
  13. Commitment to providing quality customer service.
  14. Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively.
  15. Displays a high level of initiative and ethical conduct.
  16. Willingness to acquire training to gain full proficiency and experience in job-related areas.
Agency Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will also possess:

  1. Experience in reviewing and analyzing technical documents and/or reports.
  2. Demonstrated intermediate knowledge and experience using Microsoft Excel, including proficiency in formatting spreadsheets and using formulas.
  3. Experience with PDF software to create, format, and edit documents.
  4. Demonstrated experience reviewing and interpreting geographic location data.
  5. Demonstrated strong initiative and ability to make independent recommendations to improve workflow and procedures.
