Behavioral Health Specialist

CRi is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality services to individuals with disabilities. We are seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to join our team in Richmond, VA.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care and supervision to individuals with mental health disorders in a compassionate and therapeutic manner.
- Implement and monitor treatment plans as outlined by the clinical team, ensuring individualized needs are met.
- Employ de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies to manage challenging behaviors.
- Administer prescribed medications as per established protocols, ensuring accuracy and adherence to medication schedules.
- Assist in facilitating therapeutic group activities, counseling sessions, and skill-building exercises to promote social and emotional development.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant education or certification in psychiatric technology or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working in mental health, forensic, or similar settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications, therapeutic techniques, and behavioral management strategies.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
