The Role
The Head of Business Information Security (BISO) serves as the information security program leader for their designated business unit. The BISO collaborates with our varied and distributed security teams to provide advisory services that empower the business unit. This leader will also facilitate the business's growth through efficient security measures while managing information security risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. In this role, you will cultivate a team of high achievers and invest in their professional development within a remote-first work environment. You will possess and continue to enhance your technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and business insight. Key success factors for this position include excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal awareness, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to foster collaboration and trust across teams.
What You Will Do:
- Oversee the implementation of Digit's Information Security Program.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive Information Security roadmap focused on Digit.
- Collaborate with technical and business leaders to evaluate Information Security risks and prioritize improvement initiatives.
- Ensure effective communication between Digit and the security team.
- Monitor compliance with the Information Security Program and report on its status and associated risks.
- Act as the primary liaison between the security team and Digit.
- Build and lead high-performing teams that deliver solutions to mitigate risks, safeguard the business, and support growth.
- Promote a team culture that exemplifies inclusivity, diversity, transparency, and excellence in delivery.
Who You Are:
- 7+ years of proven experience in information security, risk management, compliance auditing, or penetration testing.
- 5+ years of experience in developing and scaling diverse, inclusive, and high-performing security teams.
- Direct experience with regulated systems in the financial sector.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, etc.
- Bachelor's or graduate degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated success in delivering cloud solutions at scale while utilizing Secure-SDLC practices.
- Experience with modern agile engineering methodologies and a focus on operational excellence.
- A data-driven approach to decision-making in leadership and strategic trade-offs.
- Leadership experience with regulatory and industry standards.
- Ability to cultivate and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships at all organizational levels.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
