About the Role

CrossBoundary is seeking an Environmental and Social (E&S) Specialist to join our team in Latin America. As an E&S Specialist, you will play a critical role in assessing environmental and social risks, impacts, and required mitigation measures for projects seeking support from Development Finance institutions (DFIs). You will also monitor the environmental and social performance of active DFI projects across a range of finance products in the Latin American region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct environmental and social impact assessments for projects seeking DFI support
  • Monitor the environmental and social performance of active DFI projects
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate environmental and social risks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure E&S considerations are integrated into project development and implementation
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental and social impact assessments with a focus on international standards in developing countries
  • Specific experience with IFC Performance Standards is required
  • Expertise in a relevant field such as environmental science, geology, sociology, or anthropology is preferred
  • 5+ years of experience working with DFIs or the private sector in Latin America
  • Must be fluent in Spanish
  • U.S. citizenship required
