Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Specialist to join our team at Advanced Technology Services. As a key member of our industrial maintenance team, you will be responsible for managing inventory, coordinating projects, and ensuring seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project managers to develop timelines and labor resource plans for project completion.
  • Discuss project scope, budget, and timeline with stakeholders, including site operations and customer representatives.
  • Conduct meetings to ensure alignment between customer, vendors, and ATS preferred vendors.
  • Manage physical inventory processes during site transitions.
  • Participate in parts processing activities, separating MRO parts (Good, Bad, Obsolete).
  • Assist in parts crib build-out and reorganization tasks as required.
  • Ensure inventory data preparation is complete for import into ATS proprietary MRO system.
  • Provide system and process training for materials team, technicians, site management, and customer employees as needed.
  • Develop custom processes to support different contract variations.
  • Participate in alignment discussions with customer's Purchasing and Accounting departments to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Review ATS processes and impacts on current activity with customers.
  • Work closely with department managers/supervisors to ensure areas stay within budget.
  • Assist ATS corporate supply chain department with inventory problem resolution, assess new or potential site storerooms, audit existing site storerooms, and develop new processes.
  • Work with corporate purchasing department, fill out requisitions for tools, supplies or equipment necessary to complete project plan to customer specifications.
  • Follow up on all purchase orders placed by corporate buyer and process in ATS proprietary MRO system.
  • Present project information, utilizing PowerPoint or equivalent program, to operations and customers on a weekly basis.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree from two-year college or technical school and five or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of inventory or storeroom management experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment parts and supplies.
  • Must be proficient with a computerized parts/maintenance management system, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Project management and capital project experience preferred.
Working Conditions

The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 pounds.
