Department Overview

The Wellstar College School of Nursing is dedicated to transforming lives through education. As the largest nursing program in northern Georgia, it boasts exceptional student outcomes, consistently surpassing national averages for first-time pass rates on the National Council Licensure Examination. Established over 45 years ago, the Wellstar School of Nursing offers both undergraduate and master's degree programs, recognized nationally for their quality.

Position Summary

Kennesaw State University is currently seeking applications for full-time, non-tenure track Limited Term Instructor or Limited Term Assistant Professor positions within the Wellstar School of Nursing, commencing in August 2024. The rank will be determined at the time of hiring based on the candidate's experience.

Key Responsibilities

These roles report directly to the Director of the Wellstar School of Nursing. The primary focus will be on teaching undergraduate or graduate courses, both in classroom settings and clinical environments. Opportunities for participation in departmental committees may also be available.

Teaching assignments will align with the faculty member's qualifications and adhere to SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements for Undergraduate Teaching:

  • A Master's degree in Nursing or an equivalent qualification.

Minimum Requirements for Graduate Teaching:

  • A Doctorate degree in Nursing or a related field is essential.

Additionally, candidates must possess:

  • A clinical background in areas such as adult health, community health, psychiatric/mental health, parent/child, or women's health nursing, along with experience in skills and simulation labs.
  • An active RN license in Georgia or eligibility for licensure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous teaching experience.
  • Capability to instruct in face-to-face, online, or hybrid formats.
