The Event Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring exceptional service delivery during all banquet events. This position is focused on assisting with the setup, service, and cleanup of various functions, while maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction in a dynamic environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepare banquet spaces, including rooms, buffets, and tables, in accordance with specifications and guidance from supervisors.
2. Address guest inquiries and requests promptly, collaborating with the Banquet Supervisor when necessary.
3. Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas.
4. Arrange banquet rooms to promote a safe, efficient, and energy-conscious workspace.
5. Ensure that all unused spaces meet departmental standards.
6. Communicate any concerns or issues to the Banquet Supervisor effectively.
7. Assist with inventory management of equipment as scheduled.
8. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, cleaned, and repaired as needed.
9. Transport food from the kitchen and return used dishes and carts to the appropriate area.
10. Verify that hot boxes are functioning correctly and assist in food service as required.
11. Support servers during events by responding to their needs and alerting the Banquet Supervisor of any challenges.
12. Provide feedback to the Sales department and Banquet Supervisor regarding equipment, supplies, and staffing requirements.
13. Participate in record-keeping and documentation tasks.
14. Attend regular training sessions and staff meetings to enhance skills and knowledge.
15. Foster a collaborative atmosphere with supervisors and colleagues across all departments.
16. Engage with guests in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner, demonstrating a commitment to excellence.
17. Adhere to all departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
18. Enforce safety and sanitation protocols, including OSHA guidelines.
19. Maintain security measures to protect equipment inventory.
20. Participate in all required departmental meetings and training sessions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Possession of a Level 4 Gaming License is required.
LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence.
- Capability to write basic correspondence.
- Proficiency in basic mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed instructions and solve problems with concrete variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical requirements for this position include:
- Regularly standing, walking, and using hands to handle objects.
- Lifting, pushing, pulling, or moving up to 100 pounds.
- Vision capabilities including close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment is characterized by:
- Proximity to moving mechanical parts.
