Job Summary:

Valor Healthcare is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in our Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Kingston. As a valued member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional healthcare services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with patient care, physical examinations, and ancillary tests
  • Perform annual and routine nursing assessments, and provide preventive health services as authorized by the VA and the clinic Medical Director
  • Administer medications, apply compresses, and observe patient reactions
  • Operate electrocardiograph (EKG) and other diagnostic equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests and treatments
  • Dress wounds and incisions, interpret physician instructions, and assist with emergencies
  • Collect lab specimens, perform waived laboratory tests, and submit results to medical providers
  • Clean treatment rooms, equipment, and supplies
  • Provide patient and family health education, and advise on community resources
  • Maintain confidentiality of veterans' data and information

Requirements:

  • Diploma or certificate from an accredited program of practical or vocational nursing
  • Minimum one-year experience as an LPN/LVN in a related primary care or ambulatory care setting; government healthcare environment preferred
  • Credentialed and in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration (VA)
  • Valid, unrestricted license in the state of desired employment, or in any U.S. state or territory, depending on VA contractual requirements
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support and ACLS, as specified by individual VAMC contract
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, and strong computer skills, including EMR experience
