Position Overview

The American Society of Hematology is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Clinical Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Professor. This position is tailored for a physician-scientist with a robust interest in laboratory research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care for both inpatients and outpatients dealing with a spectrum of pediatric hematologic and oncologic conditions.
  • Engage in dedicated laboratory time to pursue innovative basic or translational research in pediatric oncology.
  • Collaborate with regional healthcare providers for hematology/oncology consultations.
  • Contribute actively to educational programs for medical students and residents, as well as to ongoing professional development initiatives.
  • Lead and participate in clinical and bench research projects within the pediatric hematology/oncology domain.
  • Involve in cooperative research and clinical trials in partnership with leading institutions.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities typical of a university faculty member, including committee work and curriculum development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Eligibility for licensure in the relevant state.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
  • A minimum of six years of post-graduate training, including a Pediatrics Residency and a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship.
  • MD/DO or equivalent degree.
  • Experience in laboratory research methodologies.
