Position Overview

The Golf Equipment Technician role involves skilled tasks to maintain and repair small diesel and gasoline engine machinery, automotive vehicles, and associated golf course equipment. The technician will utilize independent judgment to determine repair methods for routine maintenance and comprehensive overhauls of small engines and other minor automotive or equipment repairs. This is a non-supervisory role, except for the training of new staff in the proper operation of equipment, machinery, and power tools.

This position follows a regular schedule but may require working outside of standard hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct maintenance on all turf machinery
  • Adjust and maintain reel units
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment
  • Keep maintenance records, manage inventory levels, and ensure an organized work area
  • Train new staff in equipment usage
  • Execute cultural practices on the course as necessary
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience and/or training, including skills in metalworking and fabrication
    • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-6 months of management experience
    • in people and/or project management
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License with a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance provider

  • Capability to maintain cutting units for optimal performance
  • Ability to diagnose electrical systems
  • Basic understanding of turfgrass operations
  • Comprehension of the significance of maintaining cutting units
  • Willingness to work after standard hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call hours
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements for this role
  • Ability to pass extensive background checks and pre-employment drug and audio screenings
