Position Summary

The Engineer, working under the limited supervision of the Director of Engineering and Plant Engineer, is tasked with meeting the objectives and goals associated with the engineering role.

Key Responsibilities
  1. In the absence of senior engineering staff, manage the Maintenance Departments across multiple facilities and align activities with the requirements of Management, Production, Laboratory, Safety, and Security.
  2. Execute Project Engineering responsibilities.
  3. Oversee Project Management tasks.
  4. Assess facility issues, devise solutions, and offer recommendations for enhancing the performance of facilities and equipment.
  5. Draft detailed specifications, prepare bid proposals, solicit bids, and evaluate them in collaboration with the Purchasing Department.
  6. Generate internal requisitions for tools, equipment, and repairs necessary for facility maintenance in line with company purchasing protocols.
  7. Design, reverse engineer, and produce sketches or Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings for replacement components, equipment, and facility layouts.
  8. Remain informed and comply with regulatory requirements impacting the property, facility, and operations.
  9. With guidance from senior engineering staff, compile regulatory reports for the property, facility, and operations.
  10. Maintain comprehensive project files, including the history and specifications of facilities, equipment, and repairs.
  11. Assist in the inventory and sale of surplus assets from the facility, and develop and maintain sales tools, such as a website for surplus assets.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned by senior engineering staff.
Goals
  1. Collect process and component data to create designs aimed at reducing operational and maintenance costs for facilities and equipment.
  2. Ensure prompt responses to the facility, equipment, and repair needs of Management, Production, Laboratory, Safety, and Security.
  3. Achieve proficiency in CAD and SolidWorks.
  4. Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) for plant operations.
  5. Once a PFD is established, label the process lines accordingly.
  6. After developing and labeling a process PFD, investigate automation opportunities for the process.
  7. Collaborate with maintenance to compile equipment lists for each process.
  8. Meet assigned objectives.
