Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Plant Supervisor to join our team at Webb County, TX. As a key member of our Utilities Department, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our wastewater treatment plant and related infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and chemical analysis, prepare logs, reports, and files required local, state, and federal reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal permit requirements and regulations, develop and implement plant policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular rounds of the plant, read gauges and meters, record readings, and make process adjustments as needed.
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment, including pumps, motors, controllers, valves, charts, and plant instrumentation.
  • Direct the installation of water and sewer taps, and resolve customer concerns or complaints.
  • Collect samples, perform laboratory analysis to ensure efficient treatment facility operation, and supervise corrective actions.
  • Train, assign, supervise, evaluate, and discipline personnel as needed.
  • Purchase equipment, materials, and supplies, and respond to after-hours emergencies when required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • At least one year of relevant experience.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain an appropriate state-certified license for water or wastewater treatment or distribution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment plant principles, operations, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of chemistry, mathematics, and biology.
  • Knowledge of department and county policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Skill in operating and maintaining mechanical and electronic equipment.
  • Skill in planning, organization, and decision-making.
  • Skill in supervising personnel.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
