Key Responsibilities
In this capacity, you will oversee and contribute to various water and wastewater initiatives, including but not limited to treatment facilities. This role offers a remote work option for the right candidate.
Essential Functions
The successful candidate will:
- Manage the financial and scheduling aspects of multiple engineering assignments.
- Act as the Engineer of Record and technical authority for assigned projects.
- Engage with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project completion.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines based on initial client input, negotiating any necessary modifications throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support Senior Project Managers in the allocation of junior engineering staff on ongoing projects, balancing workloads according to project demands.
- Coordinate the efforts of the project team effectively.
- Prepare and review technical specifications and cost assessments, collaborating with in-house construction administration teams.
- Guide junior engineers on standard design practices and procedures.
- Provide direction to field personnel regarding specific construction requirements, including site visits for necessary observations.
- Assist in project pursuits and the preparation of proposals.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the water/wastewater sector.
- Possession of a State of Texas PE license is mandatory.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Strong technical writing capabilities for the development of engineering reports and studies.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly self-motivated, with the ability to anticipate and initiate subsequent project tasks, working independently or with minimal guidance.
- Proficient in managing projects within established budgets and timelines.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently within a collaborative project team environment.
