Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Food Preparation Specialist to join our catering team. In this role, you will prepare foods for employees and guests, ensuring proper temperatures and food safety guidelines are met.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have expert-level experience in food preparation and handling, with the ability to interpret recipes and use computer systems for retrieving and editing catering requests. You will also be responsible for demonstrating working knowledge of food service sanitation and using accepted techniques in handling, preparation, and service of food items.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare foods according to catering sheets and ensure proper temperatures are maintained
  • Check holding temperatures of hot food to ensure quality and compliance with sanitation guidelines
  • Promptly report food shortages, outdated items, or any foods received in poor condition
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Expert-level experience in food preparation and handling
  • Ability to interpret recipes and use computer systems
  • Working knowledge of food service sanitation and accepted techniques
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
  • Certification in food sanitation through State Health Department certification classes
