About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen and Bath Design Specialist to join our team at Gilcrest Jewett Lumber. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and design expertise to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Solicit new business opportunities and conduct site visits to assess client needs and provide design solutions.
  • Assist clients with product selection and ordering, ensuring accurate measurements and quantities.
  • Conduct pre-construction site inspections and measurements to ensure accurate design and installation.
  • Utilize automated design capabilities to create custom designs within stock and semi-custom product categories.
  • Prepare and present bid proposals to clients, ensuring accurate pricing and timelines.
  • Coordinate project schedules, subcontractor schedules, and material deliveries to ensure timely completion.
  • Act as a liaison between clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless communication and project execution.
  • Review and process client payments and credits in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain current knowledge of daily and monthly sales, as well as margin goals, to ensure optimal business performance.
  • Understand and explain the differences in cabinet lines to clients, as well as other products and materials.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, products, and technologies to provide expert design solutions.
  • Participate in semi-annual inventory and maintain a clean, organized, and professional showroom.
  • Understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and attendance requirements.
Requirements
  • 60 hours of NKBA professional development programming or equivalent technical degree preferred.
  • 3-7 years of Kitchen and Bath industry experience required.
  • Advanced computer-aided drafting skills, salesmanship, and design presentation skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of kitchen and bathroom design, general knowledge of building materials, and construction principles.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle in the state of sales activity.
