Job Description Summary

The Sr. Manager, HR Strategic Support is a critical role within HR Operations, responsible for leading the HR Strategic Support function. This position oversees HR project management, HRIS program support, and HR people readiness, ensuring these functions occur with high success and collaboration, lower risk, and a methodical approach.

This role partners with various stakeholders within HR and the organization, including HRIS and functional HR leaders, to deliver functional and technical projects with quality. The Sr. Manager, HR Strategic Support will provide direction to multiple project managers, a program specialist, and a readiness manager who make up HR Strategic Support.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, organizational change management, communications, or a related field, and a minimum of 5-8 years' experience in management of an HR Operations, Project Management, or Communications/Change function. They will also have a strong understanding and/or certification of change management methodologies, approaches, and tools, such as PROSCI certification.

The Sr. Manager, HR Strategic Support will be responsible for setting the vision and approach for project management and delivery within HR Operations, ensuring appropriate collaboration and teamwork occurs to deliver projects with high quality. They will also partner with the readiness manager to ensure appropriate change management and communications methodology are applied to HR project and program delivery.

The successful candidate will have a blend of strategic and tactical thinking, creative and analytic reasoning, and demonstrated ability to lead project management and functional HR communications and change programs. They will also have excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, ability to communicate, coach, and influence internal and external stakeholders, and ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction to multiple project managers, a program specialist, and a readiness manager who make up HR Strategic Support
  • Set the vision and approach for project management and delivery within HR Operations
  • Partner with the readiness manager to ensure appropriate change management and communications methodology are applied to HR project and program delivery
  • Partner with the HRIS Program Specialist to deliver program management support for the HRIS function
  • Serve as a key partner to entire HRIS and HR Operations leaders

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, organizational change management, communications, or a related field
  • Minimum 5-8 years' experience in management of an HR Operations, Project Management, or Communications/Change function
  • Strong understanding and/or certification of change management methodologies, approaches, and tools
  • Blend of strategic and tactical thinking, creative and analytic reasoning
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project management and functional HR communications and change programs
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Ability to communicate, coach, and influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment

Physical Demands:

The Sr. Manager, HR Strategic Support must be able to bend, squat, crouch, and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions, including rain, wind, or excessive temperatures, and/or night and weekend work.
