- Conduct regular inspections of food items for quality assurance and monitor temperature controls.
- Implement timely food compliance audits to uphold safety standards.
- Manage staffing levels in accordance with budgetary constraints to ensure optimal performance.
- Design and oversee daily menus while managing food costs through strategic purchasing and preparation methods.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to foster a supportive work environment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with facility management and staff.
- Supervise the efficient distribution of meals from the kitchen to service areas.
- Ensure that the kitchen and work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitized condition.
- Deliver a dining experience that consistently exceeds customer expectations.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, respect, and integrity among staff, while maintaining a commitment to exceptional customer service and financial accountability.
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations regarding food service, equipment use, and personal hygiene.
- Implement and monitor HACCP policies and procedures to ensure food safety.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required.
- ServSafe Certification is mandatory.
- Dietary Managers Certification (preferred) and/or other relevant certifications.
- Experience in food service within institutional or healthcare settings is essential.
- Formal education in institutional cooking and food service sanitation is desirable.
