Position Title: Service Team Lead A&P

Location: GAC Palm Beach

Key Skills Required:
Experience with mid and large cabin aircraft is preferred.

Education and Experience:
A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.

Minimum of 6 years in inspection and heavy maintenance of large and/or mid-size aircraft, including at least three (3) years specifically with Gulfstream aircraft.

An A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license is essential. A valid Driver's License is also required.

Purpose of the Role:
This role supports the Service Team Manager (STM) by developing project plans and coordinating maintenance and workforce activities across all shifts for the assigned aircraft.

The Service Team Lead provides guidance to technicians during the inspection, maintenance, and repair processes to ensure adherence to specifications.

The role involves anticipating and assessing potential project challenges and proactively engaging in resolutions to ensure timely aircraft delivery.

Core Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:
Assist the STM in planning, scheduling, and executing tasks related to quotes/work authorizations and customer debrief meetings. Facilitate work activities across all shifts by effectively communicating and coordinating project information and milestones.

Collaborate with quality assurance, materials, and other support organizations (Engineering, Avionics, Interior, etc.) to ensure compliance with company policies and FAA regulations.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals, Aircraft Service Changes, Customer Bulletins, inspection schedules, vendor information, and all other relevant procedures and publications related to aircraft maintenance.

Instruct aircraft technicians on proper troubleshooting techniques for airframe and engine systems, routine inspections, and preventive maintenance.

Ensure financial success of projects by monitoring and articulating project finances throughout the project lifecycle. Track daily time and material charges against work orders (compared to budget). Provide daily updates to customers regarding schedule status, invoicing, and dispute resolutions. Act on behalf of the hangar manager/STM in their absence or as assigned.

Implement 6S and Lean principles to uphold cleanliness and safety standards in all areas, including hangars, break areas, and offices.

Proactively address situations that impact customer satisfaction, service center safety, quality, efficiency, and profitability.

Additional Responsibilities:

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, openness, and diverse thinking by understanding and clearly articulating trends observed through visual management board data.

Encourage and implement top initiatives to address workplace issues. Provide input for technician performance evaluations. Assist in developing employee training and development plans.

Support the safety and serviceability of all ground support equipment and coordinate repair and routine maintenance notifications. Perform other duties as assigned.


Other Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers and establish professional working relationships. Proven leadership skills with strong communication abilities and the capacity to understand and articulate project finances and customer billing. Capable of organizing work, training employees, solving problems, and adapting to change. Advanced knowledge of relevant technical reference materials (maintenance manuals, IPCs, ADs, service bulletins, structural repair manuals, etc.). Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 40 lbs. This position is intended for first shift, but may require flexibility to work any shift and overtime as needed. Proficient in using various computer hardware/software applications. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
