Job Summary

Serrato Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced On-Call Security Officer to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our facilities, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide substitute and/or call-in services of a security officer to ensure adequate coverage of our facilities.
  • Enforce all laws, rules, and policies within your scope of authority to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Conduct regular foot patrols of assigned areas to identify and respond to potential security threats.
  • Aid and assist visitors, student employees, and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Perform building security and safety checks to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Investigate complaints and perform appropriate investigations to resolve issues.
  • Provide transportation services as needed to support the safety and security of our facilities.
  • Investigate vehicle accidents at the Center and prepare written reports as required.
  • Issue visitor passes and temporary parking permits to authorized individuals.
  • Perform main entrance duty to ensure the secure entry and exit of individuals.
  • Assist staff in quelling disturbances and maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • Prepare written reports and other documentation as required to support the safety and security of our facilities.
  • Coordinate the recruitment, selection, and training of security cadets to ensure a high level of competence and professionalism.
  • Participate in the preparation and enforcement of our safety and fire prevention program to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct daily briefings with security cadets to review assignments, procedures, and protocols.
  • Provide written and oral reports, briefings, or summaries to support the safety and security of our facilities.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained to support the safety and security of our facilities.
  • Provide vehicle checks to entering and exiting traffic to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in all areas and comply with safety practices to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Follow our safety plan and Code of Conduct system daily to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Help students become more employable through continuous reinforcement and support.
  • Adhere to required property control policies and procedures to ensure the safe and secure handling of assets.
  • Work towards meeting performance standard goals to support the safety and security of our facilities.
  • Comply with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), Serrato Corporation policies and procedures, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate and abide by Serrato Corporation's core values and operating principles to support the safety and security of our facilities.
  • Model, mentor, and monitor appropriate Career Success Standards to support the development of our students.
  • Participate in PRH mandated staff training to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining student security and accountability during training, day and evening, by continuously walking through areas where students are being trained, having lunch, participating in dorm activities, recreational activities, and monitoring grounds over the entire Center.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the safety and security of our facilities.
Requirements
  • Two years of security, law enforcement, military, or related experience.
  • Safety-related training preferred.
  • At least one year in a residential living setting and background in youth programs preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates Degree preferred.

Specific vision capabilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Physical stamina is required to handle a full shift of being active and patrolling around the center.
