Key Responsibilities- Integrate and develop propulsion concepts that meet business requirements, supporting system-level decisions for architecture designs.
- Perform trade studies and contribute to the overall business strategy, working closely with internal and external customers.
- Lead programs and projects, working with internal and external customers to create propulsion solutions for the next generation of aircraft.
- Build and execute aero-thermal models of new concept and derivative engines, aligning input from component design teams to customer requirements.
- Partner with preliminary mechanical design engineers to ensure end-to-end propulsion system feasibility.
- Coordinate with a cross-functional team of adjacent disciplines (aero, mechanical, systems) to assess technology capability and maturity in support of business objectives.
- Execute analysis and evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices, and procedures, and the product or program requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments to program and engineering leadership.
- Participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and tasks, including establishment of processes and best practices.
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews across engine programs.
- Lead the GE Aviation cultural transformation coaching and mentoring, fostering inclusive environments, and driving a systematic approach to Lean.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- >7 years of experience in an aero-thermal and/or performance-based engineering position.
- Excited about propulsion and the aero-thermodynamic disciplines.
- Passionate about giving and receiving mentorship.
- Prior experience working with global cross-functional teams.
- Able to work both in a global team and individually.
- Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- 10 years of experience in an aerospace or mechanical engineering position.
- Experience with engine cycle modeling, or component aero design.
- Experience with NPSS, Python, C++ or similar programming languages.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to guide and influence others.
- Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work.
- Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market, and manage programs.
- Exposure to commercial engine design requirements.
- Problem analysis and resolution skills.
- Systems thinking.
