Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Integrate and develop propulsion concepts that meet business requirements, supporting system-level decisions for architecture designs.
  • Perform trade studies and contribute to the overall business strategy, working closely with internal and external customers.
  • Lead programs and projects, working with internal and external customers to create propulsion solutions for the next generation of aircraft.
  • Build and execute aero-thermal models of new concept and derivative engines, aligning input from component design teams to customer requirements.
  • Partner with preliminary mechanical design engineers to ensure end-to-end propulsion system feasibility.
  • Coordinate with a cross-functional team of adjacent disciplines (aero, mechanical, systems) to assess technology capability and maturity in support of business objectives.
  • Execute analysis and evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices, and procedures, and the product or program requirements.
  • Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments to program and engineering leadership.
  • Participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and tasks, including establishment of processes and best practices.
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews across engine programs.
  • Lead the GE Aviation cultural transformation coaching and mentoring, fostering inclusive environments, and driving a systematic approach to Lean.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • >7 years of experience in an aero-thermal and/or performance-based engineering position.

  • Prior experience working with global cross-functional teams.
  • Able to work both in a global team and individually.
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited college or university.

  • Experience with engine cycle modeling, or component aero design.
  • Experience with NPSS, Python, C++ or similar programming languages.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to guide and influence others.
  • Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work.
  • Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market, and manage programs.
  • Exposure to commercial engine design requirements.
  • Problem analysis and resolution skills.
