Construction Laborer

Pasadena Unified School District is a prominent educational institution serving the communities of Altadena, Pasadena, and Sierra Madre. The district is known for its numerous historical landmarks and iconic venues like the Rose Bowl Stadium and Tournament of Roses.

This is a substitute position to cover short and long-term absences in our public works department. Incumbents will be offered hours on an on-call basis at various school sites. The location is at our District Service Center.
The estimated salary for this position is around $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We require a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and two years of recent full-time experience in repair and construction as a skilled worker with masonry and asphalt or comparable level of performance and responsibility.
The successful candidate will possess a valid Class C California Driver's License and be able to obtain a valid Class A California Driver's License within six months of employment. They must also be physically and mentally able to perform the essential duties of the position without hazard to themselves or others.
Responsibilities include standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 100 lbs, climbing heights up to 30 feet, carrying, pushing/pulling, maintaining balance, stooping/bending, bending repeatedly, crawling, reaching over head, repetitively using fingers, wrists, or hands, using both hands/legs simultaneously, having rapid mental/muscular coordination, speaking clearly, hearing normal voice conversation, having depth perception, color vision, distinguishing shades, seeing small details, seeing long distances, operating in very small spaces, using respirator masks, operating mobile motorized equipment, and using computers and telephones.
