Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join our team at Springfield Public Schools - MA. As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters the social, emotional, and academic growth of our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction
    • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of our students
    • Use a variety of instructional strategies to promote student learning and engagement
    • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Classroom Management
    • Create a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes social skills and emotional intelligence
    • Establish clear expectations and routines to ensure a smooth and productive learning environment
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment
    • Work with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs
  • Professional Development
    • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education
    • Seek feedback and coaching to improve teaching practices and student outcomes
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • Highly qualified with required competency in the content area
    • Appropriate content/program area educator license (Early Childhood: Teacher of Students With and Without Disabilities) and grade level (PreK-2) licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
    • Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license; or Master's Degree with appropriate content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 years
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and staff
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
