About the Role:

Sloan, a leading manufacturer of commercial plumbing systems, is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer II to join our team in Franklin Park, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing processes to produce our product lines economically and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop CNC machining processes for parts, including setup sheets, tool preset drawings, tool holder selection, and cutting tool selection.
  • Program 2 & 3 Axis CNC Equipment, writing new programs from scratch to produce new parts to print.
  • Troubleshoot CNC Machining tolerance issues, program issues, setup issues, and other manufacturing quality-related issues with setup and operators on the manufacturing floor.
  • Responsible for continuous process improvement tracked by quality yields and standard labor costs.
  • Analyze, review, and optimize existing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency using LEAN manufacturing techniques.
  • Determine and establish overall manufacturing engineering requirements for items such as machinery, equipment, tooling, manufacturing methods, and processes.
  • Prepare routings, process sheets, work instructions, and process drawings as required and establish feeds, speeds, cycle times, and other operating parameters for all types of equipment.
  • Train supervisors, group leaders, and operators in any new processes or products.
  • Identify and mitigate safety hazards throughout the facility.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ Years Manufacturing experience
  • 5+ Years Manufacturing/industrial engineering experience
  • 5+ Years CNC Programming & Troubleshooting Skills
  • Organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
  • Ability to trouble shoot problems with production process parts, and equipment.
