EnerSys Advanced Systems (EAS) is a leading provider of energy solutions for industrial applications.

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer I to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing processes.

This role will work closely with our cross-functional team and interact with customers and vendors in a challenging environment.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Designing, developing, and overseeing the procurement of process tooling and fixturing.
  • Participating in Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings and taking an active role in the support of production batteries, failure reviews, and the reporting of change notices to customers.
  • Reviewing product design drawings for feasibility and manufacturability and providing feedback to product engineers.
  • Developing and reviewing Operating Instructions (OI's), Manufacturing Engineering Instructions (MEEI's), and Flow Tags (FTs) to clearly and accurately document manufacturing processes.
  • Residing on the product Non-Conformance (NC) committee, providing dispositions, and initiating Corrective Action Reports (CAR's).
  • Providing troubleshooting assistance and establishing preventative maintenance procedures on production equipment such as hydraulic presses, high vacuum ovens, and welders.
  • Developing and maintaining production labor standards.
  • Identifying hazardous conditions and coordinating with Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) to resolve the condition.
  • Applying manufacturing engineering principles such as Lean, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Statistical Process Control to drive an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Supporting departmental internal/external audits and customer technical interchanges.
  • Actively participating in writing equipment specifications, equipment selection, and conducting equipment qualifications.
  • Maintaining production metrics and PFMEAs.

Requirements for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • Solidworks and AutoCAD skills.
  • MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification and Solidworks CSWP Certification.
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude.
  • Creative problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and the application of ASME Y14.5.
  • Technical writing and communication.
