Laboratory Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Della Infotech Inc. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our laboratory operations, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our testing processes.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patient specimens for laboratory testing, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
- Enter patient demographic and test order information into laboratory information systems, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
- Interact with patients, laboratory staff, and caregivers in a professional and courteous manner, providing exceptional customer service.
- Review laboratory request forms for completeness and resolve discrepancies as needed, exercising care in specimen handling and order entry.
- Perform selected CLIA waived tests, following established protocols and guidelines.
- Assist in the training of employees and students, participating in department continuing education and in-service programs.
- May perform blood sample collection or phlebotomy, following established protocols and guidelines.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, demonstrating exceptional customer service skills.
- Experience in a hospital or clinic laboratory preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
- Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS Customer Service policy.
Regularly exposed to infection from disease-bearing specimens, organs, and tissues. Occasional exposure to radiation hazards. Exposures to odorous and/or toxic chemicals and specimens. Must be capable of standing and walking for prolonged periods to perform work duties.
