About the Role

The Detroit Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team in Detroit, Michigan.

Job Summary

As a Medical Technologist at the Detroit Medical Center, you will be responsible for performing quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests on patient specimens, analyzing test results, and preparing samples for testing. You will also be responsible for calculating test findings, maintaining records, and preparing and determining the validity of solutions, reagents, media stains, and various materials in the testing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and test all types of laboratory specimens
  • Review and report lab results
  • Perform operational duties, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment
  • Act as a resource to other laboratory personnel
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology, or equivalent
  • Registered or registry eligible in accordance with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT, or CSMLS within 12 months of hire)
  • Prefer 6 months to 1 year medical laboratory technologist, clinical laboratory scientist experience in an acute care facility
