Job Overview

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement IEPs: Create tailored IEPs that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Adapt Instructional Methods: Modify teaching approaches and materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
  • Assess Student Progress: Regularly evaluate students' skills and determine their educational needs.
  • Establish Clear Objectives: Set clear goals for lessons, units, and projects, and communicate them to students.
  • Monitor Progress and Adjust: Collaborate with educators to adjust instructional methods and materials as needed.
  • Foster a Positive Environment: Create a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Record Student Progress: Maintain accurate and complete records of students' development.
  • Communicate with Parents: Regularly update parents and guardians on their child's progress and address any concerns.
  • Stay Current with Best Practices: Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on special education laws and regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education: A degree in Special Education or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minnesota Special Education Teaching License: A valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License is necessary.
  • Experience Working with Students with Disabilities: Experience working with students with various disabilities is essential.
  • Strong Knowledge of Special Education Laws and Regulations: A solid understanding of special education laws and regulations is required.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective collaboration with educators, parents, and students.
  • Ability to Develop and Implement Effective Instructional Plans: The ability to create and implement effective instructional plans is crucial.
  • Patience, Empathy, and Passion for Working with Children with Special Needs: A genuine passion for working with children with special needs and patience, empathy, are essential qualities for this role.
