Job Summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Dietitian to provide expert nutrition care and services to patients and clients. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assessing patients' nutritional needs, developing personalized care plans, and providing education and counseling to promote healthy eating habits.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and provide appropriate nutritional care and education within a comprehensive health program.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and healthcare teams to assess nutritional needs and develop dietary interventions.
  • Provide education to patients, caregivers, staff, and the community on nutritional approaches to disease prevention and survivorship issues.
  • Offer advice and consultation on therapeutic diets prescribed by physicians for individual patients.
  • Manage nutrition supplement programs, participate in grant funding applications, and report on program outcomes.
  • Develop and promote food demonstrations and nutritional teaching for various age groups and chronically ill patients.
Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge and experience with a wide range of disease entities, treatment modalities, and drug/nutrient interactions.
  • Experience in providing nutrition care in inpatient and outpatient settings for various disease states.
  • Ability to analyze, compare, and evaluate aspects of treatment programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work one-on-one with patients and deliver compassionate care.
