About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Before and After School Program Instructor. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing engaging and developmentally appropriate activities for elementary age children in our Before and After-School Enrichment (BASE) program.

Responsibilities
  • Program Implementation: Develop and implement culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities within the curriculum in accordance with the Youth Development goals of the YMCA.
  • Child Supervision: Supervise a group of children to ensure their health and safety and to provide for a positive experience for each child.
  • Communication: Professionally communicate day-to-day, confidential and evaluative information with parents/guardians.
  • Site Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a developmentally appropriate site, including appearance, décor and cleanliness of the site.
  • Snack Preparation: Prepare and serve snacks, and clean the snack area.
  • Training and Development: Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
Requirements
  • Age and Experience: 16 years of age or older, 18 or older is preferred. 1-2 years experience with children; camps, childcare, tutoring, or nannying.
  • Education and Training: High school diploma or the equivalent of one. Completion of minimum STARS required training, CPR/First Aid Training.
  • Background Check: Cleared Portable Background Check in the statewide registry MERIT.

  • Competitive Pay: $20/hr. - $22/hr.
