Position Overview: We are currently experiencing growth and have immediate openings for several Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technicians on the first shift. The first shift operates from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Candidates with prior experience in wiring and mechanical assembly are encouraged to consider this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Department Supervisor or Lead personnel to assemble and package kits, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies related to the product.
  • Utilize blueprints and wiring schematics effectively, along with tools such as rivet guns, ratchets, screwdrivers, and other hand and pneumatic tools.
  • Work alongside Lead personnel to meet daily production targets.
  • Gather parts and tools necessary for assembly, ensuring an organized work area for efficiency and safety.
  • Assemble component parts, sub-assemblies, and final products according to customer specifications and SMT Company Inc. workmanship standards.
  • Conduct visual inspections, perform minor touch-ups on finish defects, and package the final product securely.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, notifying Lead personnel of any tooling issues that may impact safety or efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Experience in manufacturing assembly and forklift operation is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to read basic blueprints and wiring schematics, perform mathematical calculations, and follow instructions accurately.
  • Aptitude for understanding quality standards and utilizing pneumatic and mechanical tools.
  • Proficiency in using basic quality inspection equipment, including calipers and micrometers.

Working Conditions: Candidates should be prepared for constant exposure to elements typical in a manufacturing environment, such as noise, dust, heat, fumes, or dirt.

Supervision: This position operates with no direct supervision.

Decision-Making: Moderate independent judgment is required to resolve operational issues and determine manufacturing processes.

Salary: $16 - $19 per hour
