Job Description

Role Overview:

The client is hiring a Public Relations/Investor Relations Business Development Manager. This role will be responsible for developing, prospecting, and executing public relations programs for our financial and non-financial clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute public relations programs for clients, including earned media relations and day-to-day account management.
  • Prospect and qualify new business opportunities, outlining the benefits of pursuing relationships with our clients.
  • Understand the value of PR to clients' businesses and how to achieve valuable results for them.
  • Pitch press releases and feature ideas to top-tier media to secure placement for clients.
  • Support sales activities, including RFPs and proposal development, and deliver proposal presentations and materials for existing and new clients.
  • Monitor press coverage daily and report results to the wider team and clients, researching and maintaining editorial calendars and media lists.
  • Develop key messages for C-suite executives and establish excellent working relationships with clients.
  • Ensure the unique needs of clients are understood and identify improvements needed to enhance business relationships, increase revenue, and exceed client expectations.
  • Perform quality reviews of services provided and review trends and customer complaints to evaluate efficiency of workflow and current methods and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree with major course work in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years increasingly responsible experience in national, regional, or state sales, including extensive prospecting.
  • Experience preferably in the Public Relations/Media/Social Monitoring industry.
  • Excellent communication, sales acumen, and work ethic required.
  • Previous experience with cold calling, meeting with clients, client management, and CRM platform experience (HubSpot, SalesForce, etc.).
