ESL Instruction Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and support English Learners and Standard English learners through English Language Development in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, utilizing diverse instructional strategies, multimedia resources, and other educational materials.
- Oversee a targeted group of students, providing weekly interventions and instruction, while assessing and reporting their academic progress to the regional leadership team. Track enrollment and student progress monthly, create action plans based on center needs, and develop individualized academic plans for each English Learner.
- Design a comprehensive course outline in alignment with curriculum standards or state requirements, and administer assessments to evaluate student progress.
- Offer additional support to Long Term English Learners (LTELs) in specialized classes for English language development.
- Facilitate professional learning communities to assist AR teachers by delivering evidence-based pedagogy and interventions for English Language Learners.
- Conduct initial assessments within a specified timeframe of enrollment to create Individualized Learning Plans for English Learners, ensuring their effective progression towards English proficiency while maintaining current assessment results and monitoring their advancement.
- Experience working with second language learners and knowledge of second language acquisition.
- A valid California clear or preliminary teaching credential is required.
- English Learner Authorization (ELA1 or equivalent) is mandatory.
Salary range is $73,000 - $105,000 based on experience.
