Nursing Assistant I Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant I to join our team at UNC Medical Center. As a Nursing Assistant I, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures.
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care in a hospital, clinic, or home healthcare setting.
  • Observe, collect, and document patient information, and promptly report significant changes in the patient's condition to a registered nurse or physician.
  • Provide assistance to patients and their families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
  • Perform various tasks, including vital sign measurement, specimen collection, skin preps/scrubs, catheter care, and range of motion exercises.
  • Provide direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with ambulation.
  • Provide indirect care to patients and assigned areas, including cleaning, restocking supplies, and transporting patients/supplies/specimens.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or General Education Development (GED)
  • Listed as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Prefer six (6) months of nursing assistant experience
