Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant I to join our team at UNC Medical Center's Transplant 5 West unit. As a Nursing Assistant I, you will provide direct and indirect patient care in a hospital setting, working under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician.

Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures.
  • Provide care and treatments to patients as outlined in the plan of care, including vital sign measurement, specimen collection, and wound care.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Provide indirect care to patients and the assigned area, including cleaning, restocking supplies, and transporting patients and supplies.
  • Reinforce routine teaching given to patients by the registered nurse or physician and document patient understanding of instructions.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or General Education Development (GED)
  • Listed as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Prefer six (6) months of nursing assistant experience
