Position Overview

The Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing the maintenance teams at Alaska Air Group. This leadership position is essential for ensuring that our aircraft technicians operate efficiently and safely in their daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct the maintenance operations, ensuring adherence to safety and compliance standards.
  • Supervise the Aircraft on Ground (AOG) team to guarantee timely and safe maintenance of aircraft.
  • Develop workforce schedules and conduct workload assessments to optimize staffing levels.
  • Evaluate the performance of technicians and new hires, providing feedback and guidance as necessary.
  • Maintain open communication with leadership to ensure all maintenance activities comply with company and FAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to facilitate the efficient completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure work areas are maintained in a safe, clean, and organized manner.
  • Review all maintenance documentation for accuracy and oversee the sign-off process.
  • Report any incidents or accidents, ensuring proper documentation is submitted for follow-up.
  • Adhere to all relevant federal, state, and company regulations regarding aircraft maintenance.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in aviation maintenance, ideally within a commercial airline setting.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/training.
  • Possession of valid Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) licenses.
  • Recent experience in accordance with 14 CFR regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred:

  • Mechanic certificate with airframe and powerplant ratings for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Familiarity with the Horizon Air General Procedures Manual and applicable FARs.
