Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Satellite Sheetmetal Tech II to join our team at Duncan Aviation. As a key member of our maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility, you will be responsible for fabricating and installing aircraft parts and assemblies in accordance with FAA requirements and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Fabricate parts, assemblies, and antenna doublers from sheet metal, stainless steel, and composites using correct fasteners and following approved documents and procedures.
  2. Install fabricated parts, assemblies, and antenna doublers in specified aircraft locations, identifying engineering discrepancies and working with leadership and engineering team members to find alternate solutions.
  3. Disassemble and reassemble aircraft interior, instrument panels, and avionics equipment bays prior to and/or following installation, using proper handling and storage techniques.
  4. Perform corrosion control processes on parts and fixtures before installation in aircraft.
  5. Enter descriptions of work completed on work orders and maintain personal training logs.
  6. Demonstrate knowledge and use of technical reference materials, including aircraft technical manuals, parts catalogs, and fabrication and specification manuals.
  7. Maintain current industry, equipment, and FAA knowledge by attending factory classes, OJT, and researching technical documents and trade publications.
  8. Assist lesser-experienced technicians in interpreting company policies and FARs.
  9. Work all department alternate shifts as needed and accomplish road trips within the United States and other countries as needed.
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving records.
  • Respirator fit eligible.
  • Regularly scheduled attendance required.
  • Routinely lifts 50 lbs.
  • Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments.
Education and Experience
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Two years previous sheetmetal, aircraft structures, fabrication, or related experience required.
