Aircraft Sheetmetal Fabrication Specialist

Job Summary:
Duncan Aviation is seeking a skilled Satellite Sheetmetal Tech II to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility, you will be responsible for fabricating and installing aircraft parts and assemblies in accordance with FAA requirements and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate parts, assemblies, and antenna doublers from sheet metal, stainless steel, and composites using correct fasteners and following approved documents and procedures.
- Install fabricated parts, assemblies, and antenna doublers in specified aircraft locations, identifying engineering discrepancies and working with the Satellite Leadership and Engineering team to find alternate solutions.
- Disassemble and reassemble aircraft interior, instrument panels, and avionics equipment bays prior to and/or following the installation of aircraft, using proper handling and storage techniques.
- Perform appropriate corrosion control process upon completion of parts and fixtures before installation in aircraft.
- Enter a description of work completed on the work order and other required paperwork, documenting all removal and installation of aircraft parts and accessories according to Installation procedures.
- Maintain current industry, equipment, and FAA knowledge by attending factory classes, OJT, and researching technical documents, trade publications, FAR's, etc.
- Assist lesser-experienced technicians in interpreting Company policies and the FAR's.
- Available to work all department alternate shifts as needed and accomplish road trips within the United States and other countries as needed.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving records; respirator fit eligible
- Regularly scheduled attendance required
- Routinely lifts 50 lbs.; reads small print; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; works in confined spaces; works in heights above four feet; tolerates products and materials associated with component maintenance; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and sitting
- Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments
Education and Experience:
- High School graduate or equivalent required
- Two years previous sheetmetal, aircraft structures, fabrication, or related experience required
