Job Summary

The Ophthalmic Technician II is a vital member of our Eye Clinic team, responsible for assisting physicians in gathering data and maintaining a conducive environment for efficient patient care. This role requires strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to understand and apply complex ophthalmic procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians in gathering data and performing clinical testing, including visual acuity testing, visual field testing, and pupil assessment.
  • Participate in patient care by performing ophthalmic examinations, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient medical records.
  • Organize and prioritize work to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Conduct fundamental patient education and counseling.
  • Assist in preparing patients for laser surgery and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; preferably one to two years of education beyond high school.
  • At least 2 years of previous experience working as an Ophthalmology Assistant or Technician.
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic procedures, including refractometry and slit lamp use.
  • Excellent English communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to work as a contributing member of a team and adapt to changes based on departmental needs.
