About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Modeling Engineer to join our Digital Design Engineering group at Apple. As a Power Modeling Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing state-of-the-art ASICs and driving the future of SOC power optimization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the SOC power modeling and optimization for very power-efficient products.
  • Work with architects to determine interesting use-cases to simulate and provide power projection for future projects based on analysis.
  • Create test cases within the design verification team's environment.
  • Develop IP power models on new architecture designs and provide power data for performance/power/area tradeoffs.
  • Work cross-functionally with architecture, RTL, and physical design teams to improve power efficiency.
  • Understand interactions of the product at the software and system level that impact power.
Requirements
  • Electrical Engineering background preferred.
  • Familiarity with ASIC power analysis and optimization.
  • Familiarity with Verilog and System Verilog.
  • Proficient with Python scripting.
  • Familiarity with computer architecture, logic, and circuits design.
  • Familiarity with signal processing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SOC design flow and methodology is a plus.
  • Silicon power measurement experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills are a pre-requisite as the candidate will interface with cross-functional groups.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum requirement of a BS degree.
  • Base pay range for this role is between $58.61 and $88.29/hr, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
